Roadside Emergencies
To remove the spare tire:
Openthereardoorsandremove
1.
thethumbscrewandanti-theft
bracket.Iffingerpressurewillnot
removethethumbscrew,usethe
lugwrenchtoloosenthescrew.
2.
Removetheaccesscoverfrom
therubberstripbehindtheleft
door.
3.
Removethejackhandlefromthe
rightsidecompartmentandinsert
thetipofthejackhandlethrough
theaccessholeandintothetube.
4.
Turnthejackhandle
counterclockwiseuntilthecableis
slackandthetirecanbeslidfrom
underthevehicle.
5.
Removetheretainerfromthe
sparetire.
Tostowthecableretainerwiththespareremoved,turnthejackhandle
clockwiseuntilallslackisremoved.
To stow the spare tire:
1.
Laythetireonthegroundundertherearofthevehiclewiththevalve
stemfacingup.
Stowaluminumwheelswithvalvestemfacingdown.
2.
Installtheretainerthroughthecenterofthewheel.
3.
Raisethetirebyturningthejack
handleclockwise.Continueuntilthe
liftmechanism“clicks”.
4.
Makesurethetireistightly
seatedunderthevehiclebypushing
againstthetire.Retightenas
necessary.
5.
Replacetheaccesscover,
anti-theftbracketandthumbscrew.
Usefingerpressureonlytosecurethethumbscrew.
