Ifeitherthedriverorafront
passengerdoesnotfastentheirseat
beltwhiledriving,thebeeperwill
soundandtheindicatorwillflash
againatregularintervals.

fastenyourseatbelts.
Thissystemmonitorsthefrontseat
belts.Ifyouturntheignitionswitch
totheON(II)positionbeforeyour
seatbeltisfastened,thebeeperwill
soundandtheindicatorwillflash.If
yourseatbeltisnotfastenedbefore
thebeeperstops,theindicatorwill
stopflashingbutremainon.
Youwillalsoseea‘‘FASTENSEAT
BELT’’or‘‘FASTENPASSENGER
SEATBELT’’messageonthemulti-
informationdisplay(seepage68).
Thissystemusesthesamesensors
asthefrontairbagstomonitor
whetherthefrontseatbeltsare
latchedorunlatched,andhowmuch
weightisonthefrontpassenger’s
seat(seepages26and27).
Whennooneissittinginthefront
passenger’sseat,orachildorsmall
adultisridingthere,theindicator
shouldnotcomeonandthebeeper
shouldnotsound.
Ifafrontpassengerdoesnotfasten
theirseatbelt,theindicatorwill
comeonabout6secondsafterthe
ignitionswitchisturnedtotheON
(II)position.
