Todeactivatethelockableretractor,
unlatchthebuckleandlettheseat
beltfullyretract.Torefastenthe
seatbelt,pullitoutonlyasfaras
needed.
AutomaticSeatBeltTensioners
Thetensionersaredesignedto
activateinanycollisionsevere
enoughtocausethefrontairbagsto
inflate.
Ifasideairbagorsidecurtainairbag
deploysduringasideimpact,the
tensioneronthatsideofthevehicle
willalsodeploy.
Thetensionerscanalsobeactivated
duringacollisioninwhichthefront
airbagsdonotdeploy.Inthiscase,the
airbagswouldnotbeneeded,butthe
additionalrestraintcouldbehelpful.
Foraddedprotection,thefrontseat
beltsareequippedwithautomatic
seatbelttensioners.Whenactivated,
thetensionersimmediatelytighten
thebeltstohelpholdthedriverand
afrontpassengerinposition.
Whenthetensionersareactivated,
theseatbeltswillremaintightuntil
theyareunbuckled.
