Ifyoucannotdrivethevehicle

sameratingblowsinashorttime,
thereisprobablyaserious

withoutfixingtheproblem,andyou
donothaveasparefuse,takeafuse
ofthesameratingoralowerrating
fromoneoftheothercircuits.Make
sureyoucandowithoutthatcircuit
temporarily(suchastheaccessory
powersocketorradio).
electricalproblemwithyour
vehicle.Leavetheblownfusein
thatcircuit,andhaveyourvehicle
checkedbyaqualifiedtechnician.
Iftheradiofuseisremoved,the
audiosystemwilldisableitself.The
nexttimeyouturnontheradioyou
willsee‘‘CODE’’inthefrequency
display.Usethepresetbuttonsto
enterthefive-digitcode(seepage
182).
Ifyoureplacetheblownfusewitha
sparefusethathasalowerrating,it
mightblowoutagain.Thisdoesnot
indicateanythingwrong.Replacethe
fusewithoneofthecorrectratingas
soonasyoucan.

.Checkthesmallerfusesinthe
under-hoodfuseboxandallthe
fusesintheinteriorfuseboxby
pullingouteachonewiththefuse
pullerprovidedintheunder-hood
fusebox.
Replacingafusewithonethathasa
higherratinggreatlyincreasesthe
chancesof damagingtheelectrical
system.If youdonothavea
replacementfusewiththeproperrating
forthecircuit,installonewithalower
rating.
.Lookforablownwireinsidethe
fuse.Ifitisblown,replaceitwith
oneofthesparefusesofthesame
ratingorlower.
