.Afterconfirmingthatthebeltis
locked,grabtheshoulderpartof
thebeltnearthebuckle,andpull
uptoremoveanyslackfromthe
lappartofthebelt.Remember,if
thelappartofthebeltisnottight,
thechildseatwillnotbesecure.
5.Pushandpullthechildseat
forwardandfromside-to-sideto
verifythatitissecureenoughto
stayuprightduringnormaldriving
maneuvers.Ifthechildseatisnot
secure,unlatchthebelt,allowitto
retractfully,thenrepeatthese
steps.
ANCHORAGEPOINT
Achildseatwithatethercanbe
installedinanyseatingpositionin
thebackseat,usingoneofthe
anchoragepointsshownabove.
Sinceatethercanprovideadditional
securitytothelap/shoulderbelt
installation,werecommendusinga
tetherwheneveroneisrequiredor
available.
Toremoveslack,itmayhelpto
putweightonthechildseat,or
pushonthebackoftheseatwhile
pullinguponthebelt.
Todeactivatethelockableretractor
andremoveachildseat,unlatchthe
buckle,unroutetheseatbelt,andlet
thebeltfullyretract.
