Thetreadweargradeisacompara-
tiveratingbasedonthewearrateof
Thetractiongrades,fromhighestto
lowest,areAA,A,B,andC.Those
treadwear,traction,andtemperature
performanceaccordingto
thetirewhentestedundercontrolled gradesrepresentthetire’sabilityto
conditionsonaspecifiedgovernment stoponwetpavementasmeasured
testcourse.Forexample,atire
DepartmentofTransportation
(DOT)standards.Thefollowing
explainsthesegradings.

betweenthetreadshoulderandthe
maximumsectionwidth.For
