Odometer/TripOdometer
VehicleWarningMessages
The odometer shows the total distance the vehicle has
been driven. U.S. federal regulations require that upon
transfer of vehicle ownership, the seller certify to the
purchaser the correct mileage that the vehicle has been
driven. Therefore, if the odometer reading is changed
duringrepairorreplacement,besuretokeeparecordof
thereadingbeforeandaftertheservicesothatthecorrect
mileagecanbedetermined.
When the appropriate conditions exist, “door,” “deck,”
“LoWTirE,”“CHAngEOIL,”“GASCAP”or“HOTOIL”
willdisplayintheodometer.
NOTE: If the instrument cluster is equipped with the
optional Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC),
thenallwarningsincluding”LowTire,”“DoorAjar”and
“Trunk Ajar” will only display in the EVIC. (Refer to
“Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)” in this
sectionforspecificmessages).
Thetwotripodometersshowindividualtripmileage.To
switch from odometer to trip odometers, press and
releasetheTripOdometerbutton.Toresetatripodom-
eter, display the desired trip odometer to be reset then
push and hold the button until the display resets (ap-
proximately2seconds).Referto“TripOdometerButton”
foradditionalinformation.
LoWTirE
When the appropriate condition exists the odometer
display will toggle between LoW and TirE for three
cycles.
HOTOIL
When this message is displayed there is an engine
over-temperaturecondition.
