STARTING AND OPERATING

AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE

NOTE: YouMUSTpressandholdthebrakepedaldown

whileshiftingtheshiftleveroutofPARK.

CAUTION!

WARNING!

Damage to the transaxle may occur if the following

precautionsarenotobserved:

Shift the shift lever into PARK only after the

vehiclehascometoacompletestop.

ShifttheshiftleverintooroutofREVERSEonly

afterthevehiclehascometoacompletestopand

theengineisatidlespeed.

DonotshifttheshiftleverfromREVERSE,PARK,

or NEUTRAL into any forward gear when the

engineisaboveidlespeed.

• It_theis_enginedangerous_speedto_ismove_higherthe_thanshift_idlelever_speed.outof_Ifyourorif

foot is not firmly on the brake pedal, the vehicle

couldacceleratequicklyforwardorinreverse.You

couldlosecontrolofthevehicleandhitsomeone

or something. Only shift into gear when the en-

gineisidlingnormallyandwhenyourrightfootis

firmlyonthebrakepedal.
