Compass Display
The compass heading indicates the direction

If the compass appears erratic or inaccurate, and the
variancehasbeenproperlyset,youmaywishtomanu-
ally recalibrate the compass. To manually calibrate the
compass:
the vehicle is facing. Press and release the
compass button to display one of eight com-
passheadingandtheoutsidetemperature.

Press and release the MENU button until “Personal
This compass is self-calibrating, which eliminates the
need to calibrate the compass manually. When the ve-
hicle is new, the compass may appear erratic and the
EVICwillflashthe“CAL”indicatoruntilthecompassis
calibrated.Youmaycalibratethecompassbycompleting
oneormore360–degreeturns(inanareafreefromlarge
metalormetallicobjects)untiltheCALindicatorinthe
EVICturnsoff.Thecompasswillnowfunctionnormally.
Settings”displaysintheEVIC.
3.
Press and release the STEP button until “Calibrate
CompassYes”displaysintheEVIC.
4.
Press and release the RESET button and the “CAL”
indicatorwillquitflashing.
5.
Drive the vehicle slowly, completing one or more
circles (in an area free from large metal or metallic
objects)untilthe“CAL”indicatorturnsoff.Thecompass
willnowfunctionnormally.
