Body Lubrication
Windshield Wiper Blades
Locksandallbodypivotpoints,includingsuchitemsas
seattracks,doorhingepivotpointsandrollers,liftgate,
tailgate,slidingdoorsandhoodhinges,shouldbelubri-
cated periodically with a lithium based grease such as
MOPARSprayWhiteLubetoassurequiet,easyopera-
tion and to protect against rust and wear. Prior to the
applicationofanylubricant,thepartsconcernedshould
bewipedcleantoremovedustandgrit;afterlubricating
excess oil and grease should be removed. Particular
attention should also be given to hood latching compo-
nentstoinsureproperfunction.Whenperformingother
underhood services, the hood latch, release mechanism
andsafetycatchshouldbecleanedandlubricated.
Clean the rubber edges of the wiper blades and the
windshieldperiodicallywithaspongeorsoftclothanda
mildnon-abrasivecleanerorusethewashersolvent.This
will remove accumulations of salt, waxes, or road film
andhelpreducestreakingandsmearing.
Operation of the wipers on dry glass for long periods
maycausedeteriorationofthewiperblades.Alwaysuse
washerfluidwhenusingthewiperstoremovesaltordirt
fromadrywindshield.
Avoidusingthewiperbladestoremovefrostoricefrom
thewindshield.Makesurethattheyarenotfrozentothe
glass before turning them on to avoid damaging the
blade.
Theexternallockcylindersshouldbelubricatedtwicea
year, preferably in the Fall and Spring. Apply a small
amount of a high quality lubricant such as MOPAR
LockCylinderLubricantdirectlyintothelockcylinder.
Keep the blade rubber out of contact with petroleum
productssuchasengineoil,gasoline,etc.
