Mostofthetime,wheninAutomaticOperation,you
can temporarily put the system into Recirculation
ModebypressingtheRecirculationButton.However,
under certain conditions, while in Automatic Mode,
thesystemisblowingairoutthedefrostvents.When
these conditions are present, and the Recirculation
Button is pressed, the indicator will flash and then
turnoff.Thistellsyouthatyouareunabletogointo
recirculationmodeatthistime.Ifyouwouldlikethe
systemtogointoRecirculationMode,youmustfirst
movetheModeKnobtoPanel,Panel/Floorandthen
press the Recirculation Button. This feature reduces
thepossibilityofwindowfogging.
SummerOperation
The engine cooling system in air-conditioned vehicles
mustbeprotectedwithahigh-qualityantifreezecoolant
to provide proper corrosion protection and to protect
against engine overheating. A50% solution of ethylene
glycolantifreezecoolantinwaterisrecommended.Refer
to“MaintenanceProcedures”inSection7ofthismanual
forpropercoolantselection.

UseoftheairRecirculationmodeduringwintermonths
is not recommended because it may cause window
fogging.
VacationStorage
Operating Tips
Anytimeyoustoreyourvehicle,orkeepitoutofservice
(i.e., vacation) for two weeks or more, run the air
conditioningsystematidleforaboutfiveminutesinthe
fresh air and high blower settings. This will ensure
adequate system lubrication to minimize the possibility
ofcompressordamagewhenthesystemisstartedagain.

tions.
