Exhaust System
The best protection against carbon monoxide entry into
thevehiclebodyisaproperlymaintainedengineexhaust
system.
Adding Washer Fluid
Thefluidreservoirforthewindshieldwashersislocated
in the engine compartment. Be sure to check the fluid
levelinthereservoiratregularintervals.Fillthereservoir
withwindshieldwashersolvent(notradiatorantifreeze)
andoperatethesystemforafewsecondstoflushoutthe
residualwater.
Ifyounoticeachangeinthesoundoftheexhaustsystem
orifexhaustfumescanbedetectedinsidethevehicleor
when the underside or rear of the vehicle is damaged,
have a competent technician inspect the complete ex-
haustsystemandadjacentbodyareasforbroken,dam-
aged, deteriorated, or mispositioned parts. Open seams
orlooseconnectionscouldpermitexhaustfumestoseep
intothepassengercompartment.Inaddition,inspectthe
exhaustsystemeachtimethevehicleisraisedforanoil
changeorlubrication.Replaceasrequired.
