System(BAS)IndicatorLight–IfEquipped
ElectronicStabilityProgram(ESP)/BrakeAssist
soundwillstopwhentheESPbecomesinactivefollowing
amaneuverthatcausedtheESPactivation.
The malfunction indicator for the Electronic
Stability Program (ESP) is combined with the
BrakeAssistSystem(BAS).Theyellow“ESP/
BASWarningLight”intheinstrumentcluster
comesonwhentheignitionswitchisturnedtotheON
position.Itshouldgooutwiththeenginerunning.Ifthe
“ESP/BASWarningLight”comesoncontinuouslywith
the engine running, a malfunction has been detected in
either the ESP or the BAS system, or both. If this light
remains on after the several ignition cycles, and the
vehicle has been driven several miles/kilometers  at
speedsgreaterthan30mph(48km/h),seeanauthorized
dealerassoonaspossibletohavetheproblemdiagnosed
andcorrected.

SERV(Service)4WDIndicatorLight—IfEquipped
The“SERV4WDIndicatorLight”willturnon
when the ignition key is turned to the ON
positionanditwillstayonfortwoseconds.If
thelightstaysonorturnsonduringdriving,it
meansthatthe4WDsystemisnotfunctioningproperly
andthatserviceisrequired.
22. EngineTemperatureWarningLight
This light warns of an overheated engine condi-
tion. As temperatures rise and the gauge ap-
proaches H , this indicator will illuminate and a
single chime will sound after reaching a set threshold.
Furtheroverheatingwillcausethetemperaturegaugeto
pass H , the indicator will continuously flash and a
continuouschimewilloccuruntiltheengineisallowed
tocool.
NOTE: The ESPControl System will make buzzing or
clicking sounds when it is active. This is normal; the
