IfyoupressthepowerdoorLOCKswitchwhilethekey
isintheignition,andanyfrontdoorisopen,thepower
locks will not operate. This prevents you from acciden-
tallylockingyourkeysinthevehicle.Removingthekey
or closing the door will allow the locks to operate. A
chimewillsoundifthekeyisintheignitionswitchand
adoorisopen,asaremindertoremovethekey.
6. Thedoorswerenotpreviouslylockedusingthepower
door lock switch or Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
transmitter.

AutomaticDoorLocksProgramming
The Automatic Door Locks feature can be enabled or
disabledasfollows:

For vehicles equipped with the Electronic Vehicle
InformationCenter(EVIC),referto“PersonalSettings
(Customer-Programmable Features)” under “Elec-
tronicVehicleInformationCenter(EVIC)”inSection4.
AutomaticDoorLocks
Thedoorswilllockautomaticallyonvehicleswithpower
doorlocksifallofthefollowingconditionsaremet:

TheAutomaticDoorLocksfeatureisenabled.
Thetransmissionisingear.

ForvehiclesnotequippedwiththeEVIC,performing
thefollowingprocedure:
Alldoorsareclosed.
1. Closealldoorsandplacethekeyintheignition.
Thethrottleispressed.
2. CycletheignitionswitchbetweenLOCKandONand
then back to LOCK four times, ending up in the LOCK
position.
Thevehiclespeedisabove15mph(24km/h).
