STARTING AND OPERATING
Inthismode,ESPandTCSareturnedoff(exceptforthe
“limitedslip”featuredescribedintheTCSsection)until
the vehicle reaches a speed of 40 mph (64 km/k). At
speedsover40mph(64km/k),thesystemautomatically
switches to “Partial Off” mode, described above. When
thevehiclespeedreturnstolessthan35mph(56km/h),
the ESP system will return to “Full Off” mode. The
“ESP/TCS Indicator Light” is always illuminated when
ESPisoff.ToturnESPonagain,momentarilydepressthe
“ESPOFF”button.Thiswillrestorethenormal“ESPOn”
modeofoperation.

With the ESP switched off, the enhanced vehicle
stability offered by ESP is unavailable. In an emer-

thetransfercaseisshiftedinto4WDLOWrange.

bined with the BAS indicator. The “ESP/BAS
Malfunction Indicator Light” and the “ESP/
TCSIndicatorLight”intheinstrumentcluster
both turn on when the ignition switch is turned to the
