Thevehiclemustbeona7%orgreaterincline.
Hill Start Assist (HSA)
Thegearselectionmustmatchvehicleuphilldirection
(i.e., vehicle facing uphill is in forward gear; vehicle
backinguphillisinREVERSEgear).
TheHSAsystemisdesignedtohelpthedriveraccelerate
thevehiclefromacompletestopwhileonanincline.If
thedriverreleasesthebrakewhilestoppedonanincline,
HSAwillcontinuetoholdthebrakepressureforashort
period.Ifthedriverdoesnotapplythethrottlebeforethis
timeexpires,thesystemwillreleasebrakepressureand
thevehiclewillrolldownthehillasnormal.Thesystem
will release brake pressure in proportion to amount of
throttleapplied.

Forvehiclesequippedwithanautomatictransmission,
theHSAwillworkinREVERSEgearandallforward
gears.Thesystemwillnotactivateifthetransmission
isinPARK.
