Makethefinalconnectionofthenegative(-)cabletoanexposed
metalpartofthedisabledvehicle’sengine,awayfromthebattery
andthefuelinjectionsystem.
NOTE:Donotattachthenegative(-)cabletofuellines,enginerocker
covers,theintakemanifoldorelectricalcomponentsasgrounding
points.
WARNING:Donotconnecttheendofthesecondcabletothe
negative(-)terminalofthebatterytobejumped.Asparkmay
causeanexplosionofthegasesthatsurroundthebattery.
5.
Ensurethatthecablesareclearoffanblades,belts,movingpartsof
bothengines,oranyfueldeliverysystemparts.
Jump starting
1.
Starttheengineoftheboostervehicleandruntheengineat
moderatelyincreasedspeed.
2.
3.
Starttheengineofthedisabledvehicle.
Oncethedisabledvehiclehasbeenstarted,runbothenginesforan
additionalthreeminutesbeforedisconnectingthejumpercables.
