Adjusting the front power seat (if equipped)
WARNING:Neveradjustthedriver’sseatorseatbackwhenthe
vehicleismoving.Youcouldmoveoutofpositiontocontrolthe
vehicle.Thenaseriousaccidentcouldoccur.Suddenbrakingora
collisioncouldcauseseriousinjury.Adjusttheseatonlywhenthe
vehicleisstopped.
WARNING:Donotpilecargohigherthantheseatbacksto
reducetheriskofinjuringpeopleinacollisionorsuddenstop.
WARNING:Alwaysdriveandridewithyourseatbackupright
andthelapbeltsnugandlowacrossthehipsandtheshoulder
beltsnugacrossthechest.
WARNING:Sittinginareclinedpositionwhilethevehicleis
movingisdangerousbecauseyoudon’tgetthefullprotection
fromseatbelts.Duringsuddenbrakingoracollision,youcanslide
underthelapbeltandsufferseriousinternalinjury,orinarearend
collisionyoucouldflyupandoutofthevehicle.Formaximum
protection,sitwellbackandupright.
WARNING:Sittingimproperlyoutofpositionorwiththeseat
backreclinedtoofarcantakeoffweightfromtheseatcushion
andaffectthedecisionofthepassengersensingsystem,resultingin
seriousinjuryordeathinacrash.Alwayssituprightagainstyour
seatback,withyourfeetonthefloor.
WARNING:Toreducetheriskofpossibleseriousinjury:Donot
hangobjectsoffseatbackorstowobjectsintheseatbackmap
pocket(ifequipped)whenachildisinthefrontpassengerseat.Do
notplaceobjectsunderneaththefrontpassengerseatorbetweenthe
seatandthecenterconsole(ifequipped).Checkthe“passengerairbag
off”or“passairbagoff”indicatorlampforproperairbagstatus.Refer
toFrontpassengersensingsystemintheAirbagsupplemental
restraintsystem(SRS)sectionforadditionaldetails.Failureto
followtheseinstructionsmayinterferewiththefrontpassenger
seatsensingsystem.
