SEATBELTUSEDURINGPREGNANCY:
Positionthelapstrapcomfortablyacross
thehips,beneaththeabdomen.Placethe
diagonalpartoftheseatbeltbetweenthe
breastsandtothesideoftheabdomen,as
illustratedatthebeginningofthissection.
Theuseofcomfortclipsordevices
thatwouldcreateslackintheseat
beltsystem,isnotadvised.
Nomodificationsoradditions
shouldbemadebytheuserwhich
willeitherpreventtheseatbelt
adjustingdevicesfromoperating
toremoveslack,orpreventthe
seatbeltassemblyfrombeing
adjustedtoremoveslack.
Positiontheseatbeltcorrectlyfor
thesafetyofthemotherand
unbornchild.Neverwearjustthe
lapstrapandneversitonthelap
strapwhileusingjusttheshoulder
strap.Bothoftheseactionsare
extremelydangerous,andmay
increaseyourriskofseriousinjury
intheeventofanaccidentor
duringemergencybraking.
SEATBELTSAFETY
Careshouldbetakentoavoid
contaminationofthewebbingwith
polishes,oilsandchemicals,and
particularlybatteryacid.Cleaning
maysafelybecarriedoutusingmild
soapandwater.Thebeltshouldbe
replacedifwebbingbecomesfrayed,
contaminatedordamaged.
Neverplaceanythingbetweenyou
andtheseatbeltinanattemptto
cushiontheimpactintheeventof
anaccident.Itcanbedangerous,
andwillreducetheeffectiveness
oftheseatbeltinpreventing
injury.
Itisessentialtoreplacetheentire
assemblyafterithasbeenwornina
severeimpactevenifdamagetothe
assemblyisnotobvious.
Makesuretheseatbeltisnot
slackortwisted.
Ifanydamage,wear,cuts,defects,or
impairedoperationarenotedwiththe
seatbelts,thevehicleshouldbetaken
toaDealer/AuthorisedRepairerfor
immediateattention.Donotusethe
vehicleiftheseatbeltscannotbe
operatedcorrectly.

SEATBELTHEIGHTADJUSTMENT:Use
yourfingertopressthereleasecatch.
Raiseandlowerthemechanismtothe
requiredheight.Makesurethelocking
mechanismhasengaged.
Whencorrectlypositioned,theseatbelt
shouldcrossthecollarboneatthe
mid-pointbetweentheneckandtheendof
yourshoulder.Wherepossible,rearseat
passengersshouldadjusttheirseating
positiontoachievethesameseatbelt
position.
Donotcarryhard,fragile,orsharp
itemsbetweenyourpersonandthe
seatbelt.
Seatbeltsshouldbewornbyall
vehicleoccupants,foreveryjourney
nomatterhowshort.
Makesuretheheightiscorrectly
adjustedandthemechanismis
lockedinplacebeforedriving.
