actionsareextremelydangerousand
mayincreaseyourriskofinjury.
SEATBELTPRE-TENSIONERS
Theseatbeltpre-tensionersactivatein
conjunctionwiththeSupplementaryRestraint
System(SRS)toprovideadditionalprotection
intheeventofaseverefrontalimpact.They
automaticallyreduceanyslackinaseatbeltto
reduceforwardmovementofafrontseat
occupant.
Whenusingseatbeltstorestrain
itemsotherthanoccupants,make
surethebeltsarenotdamaged,or
exposedtosharpedges.
Theseatbeltpre-tensionerswill
activateonlyonceandthenmustbe
replaced.Failuretoreplacethemwill
reducetheeffectivenessoftheSRSin
reducingtheriskofseriousinjuryor
deathintheeventofanaccident.
SEATBELTCHECKS
Note:Ifthevehicleisparkedonanincline,the
seatbeltmechanismmaylock.Thisisnota
faultandthebeltshouldbegentlyeasedout
fromtheupperanchorage.
Afteranyimpact,havetheseatbelts
andpre-tensionerscheckedand,if
necessary,replacedbya
Theseatbeltsshouldbeinspectedregularlyto
checkforfraying,cuts,weartothewebbing,
andtheconditionandsecurityofthe
mechanism,buckles,adjustersandmounting
points.

Withtheseatbeltfastened,givethe
webbingnearthebuckleaquickupward
pull.Thebucklemustremainsecurely
locked.
Withtheseatbeltunfastened,unreelthe
seatbelttothelimitofitstravel.Checkthat
itunreelssmoothlywithnosnatchesor
snags.Allowthebelttofullyretract,again
checkingforsmoothoperation.
Theseatbeltremindercommenceswhenthe
vehicleismotionandthedriver'sbeltis
unbuckled.Dependentonthemarket,the
warningindicatorintheInstrumentpanel
illuminates,andanaudiblechimesounds.See
