DESCENTCONTROL(GREEN),HDChasbeen
selectedbutisnotoperating.Thisiscausedby
thesystem’soperatingconditionsnotbeing
met(forexample,thevehicle'sspeedistoo
high).

IfHDCisdeselectedwhileoperating,the
warninglampwillflash,See37,HILL
DESCENTCONTROL(GREEN),andthesystem
willfadeout,allowingthevehicle'sspeedto
graduallyincrease.
Ifthevehicle'sspeedexceeds80km/h(50
mph),HDCwilldisengageandtheHDC
indicatorwillextinguish.
Note:HDCisautomaticallydeselectedifthe
ignitionisswitchedoffformorethan6hours.
HDCOPERATION
WithHDCengaged,thespeedofdescentcan
bealteredusingtheCruisecontrolsteering
wheelswitches,asfollows:
Toincreasespeed,pressandholdthe+
switch(2)untilthedesiredspeedis
achieved.
HillDescentControl(HDC)isdesignedto
restrictvehiclespeedtoasetlimitwhen
travellingdownhill.
Todecreasespeed,pressandholdthe-
switch(3)untilthedesiredspeedis
achieved.

Presstoincreasethesetspeed.

Whentheswitchisreleased,theselected
speedwillbemaintained.
HDCcanbeselectedatspeedsbelow80km/h

the+or-switchasrequired.Eachtapofthe
switchwillincrease/decreasethespeedin
increments/decrementsof0.5km/h(0.3mph).
