disconnected,thesteeringcolumn
mustbeunlockedfirst.Itisnot
possibletounlockthesteeringcolumn
withthebatterydisconnected.

Switchontheignitionandapplythefoot
brake.
Iftheenginecannotbeusedduring
towing,therewillbenopower
assistancetothebrakingorsteering
systems.Thiswillresultinamuch
greaterefforttosteerandstopthe
vehicleandagreatlyincreased
stoppingdistance.

Removethetowingattachmentandrefit
thecovertothefronttowingpoint.
Onlytowthevehicleinaforward
directionwithall4wheelsonthe
ground.Towinginareversedirection
with2wheelsonthegroundwillcause
seriousdamagetothetransmission.
Useextremecautionwhendetaching
towingequipment.Vehiclemovement
ispossible,whichcanresultin
seriousinjury.
Thevehicleshouldonlybetowedfora
maximumof50km(30miles)ata
maximumspeedof50km/h(30mph).
Towingforagreaterdistanceorata
higherspeed,mayresultinserious
damagetothetransmission.
Donottowthevehicleifthegearbox
cannotbesetinNeutral(N).
Thefollowingproceduremustbecarriedout
carefullytopreventdamagetothevehicle:

Securethetowingattachmentfromthe
recoveryvehicletothefronttowingpoint.

Withtheparkingbrakeapplied,switchon
theignition.
