Wipers and washers
Vehicleswithoutarainsensorfittedwillalso
increasethefrequencyoftheintermittentfront
wipewhenthevehicle'sspeedincreases.
HEADLAMPWASHERS
Theheadlamppowerwashoperates
automaticallywiththewindscreenwash.Itwill
onlyoperateiftheheadlampsareswitchedon,
andthereissufficientwasherfluidinthe
reservoir.
Thisfeaturecanbe
enabled/disabledbyyour
Dealer/AuthorisedRepairer.
Headlamppowerwashoperateswithevery
fourthoperationofthescreenwashers,
providedtheheadlampsarestillswitchedon,
andapproximately10minuteshaveelapsed
sincethelastheadlamppowerwash.Switching
theheadlampsortheignitionoff,andbackon
again,willresetthecycle.See39,LIGHTING
CONTROL,or68,SWITCHINGOFFTHE
ENGINE.
Rearwiper
Thefrequencyoftheintermittentrearwiperwill
increasewhenthevehicle'sspeedincreases.
Thisfeaturecanbe
enabled/disabledbyyour
Dealer/AuthorisedRepairer.
Note:Theheadlampsarewashedalternatelyto
preventthewasherfluidfromreducingthe
lightoutputfrombothheadlamps
simultaneously.
RAINSENSOR
Therainsensorismountedontheinsideofthe
windscreen,behindtherearviewmirror.The
sensorisabletodetectthepresenceand
amountofwateronthewindscreenand
automaticallyactivatethewindscreenwipers
accordingly.
WINTERPARKPOSITION
Thewiperscanbesettoparkinahigher
positionthannormal.Thisallowsthewiper
bladestobeliftedawayfromthescreen,while
thevehicleisstationary.Thislimitstheriskof
freezingtotheglassandhelpsfacilitatethe
removalofdebrisorobstructions,forexample,
snow,mud,leaves,etc.TheWinterpark
positioncanbeenabled/disabledfromthe
VehicleSet-Upmenu.See31,INSTRUMENT
PANELMENU.
Note:Staticdropletsmaynotbedetectedon
theinitialstart-up.Asinglewipeshouldbe
usedtoclearthewindscreen.
Toactivatetherainsensitivewipers,movethe
wiperstalktotheAUTOposition.The
behaviourofthesystemcanbeadjustedtothe
driver'spreferencebyrotatingthecollar(2).
Note:Donotdrivethevehiclewiththewipers
intheWinterparkposition.Thewipersshould
alwaysbere-settotheirnormalparkposition
beforethevehicleisdriven.
Note:Ifthewiperstalkswitchisturnedtothe
AUTOpositionthewiperswillnotoperateif
eitherofthefrontdoorsareopen.
Note:Indryandoftensunnyconditions,
opticalinfluencesanddirtaccumulationonthe
windscreenmayresultinthewindscreen
wipersactivatinginadvertently.Topreventthis,
itisrecommendedthatundertheseconditions
thewipercontrolsarereturnedtotheOFF
position.
