Beforeventuringoff-road,itisabsolutely
essentialthatinexperienceddriversbecome
fullyfamiliarwiththevehicle'scontrols.In
particular,CommandShift™,HillDescent
Control(HDC)andtheTerrainresponse
system.
Thisprogrammeiscompatible
withallonandoff-road
conditions.Ifnotalreadyactive,it
shouldbeselectedbeforedriving
onsurfaceswhicharesimilartoa
hardroadsurface.Drycobbles,
tarmac,drywoodenplanks,etc.,
allfallintothiscategory.
TERRAINRESPONSEOPERATION
Thisprogrammeshouldbeselectedoncethe
needforaspecialprogrammehaspassed.
Oncethespecialprogrammehasbeen
deselected,allofthevehicle'ssystemswill
returntotheirnormalsettings,exceptHill
DescentControl(HDC).HDCwillremainactive,
ifitwasselectedmanually.
Terrainresponseselectionisviathecentre
consoleswitches.Usetheswitchestomove
throughthedifferentprogrammeselections.
Thecurrentlyselectedprogrammeiconwillbe
displayedintheMessagecentre.
MessagesrelatingtotheTerrainresponse
systemaredisplayedintheMessagecentre.

MESSAGES.Mostofthemessagesthatappear
willbeforinformationonlyandrequireno
driverintervention.
GRASS/GRAVEL/SNOW
Thisprogrammeshouldbeused
whereafirmsurfaceiscovered
withlooseorslipperymaterial.
Note:Changingbetweenspecialprogrammes
willaltervariousvehiclesettings,forexample,
enginerevswhileatthecurrentaccelerator
pedalpositionmayalterorthesteeringfeel
mightchange.Thesechangesarenotdramatic,
butwillbenoticeable.
Note:Fordeepgravel,itisrecommendedthat
theSandprogrammeisselected.
Note:Ifthevehicleisunabletogaintractionin
deepsnow,switchingDynamicStability
Control(DSC)offmayhelp.DSCshouldbe
switchedonagain,assoonasthedifficultyis
overcome.
Itisadvisabletoexperimentwiththeavailable
settingsinanenvironmentthatwillnoteffect
otherroadusers.
