NOTE:Beawarethatabatterywilltakelonger
Batteriesgenerateexplosivegases,contain
corrosiveacidandproducelevelsofelectric
currentsufficienttocauseseriousinjury.
Whilechargingalwaysheedthefollowing
precautions:
tochargeinacoldenvironment.
WARNING
DONOTchargethebatteryifitisconnected
tothecar-thismayseriouslydamagethe
electricalsystem.

Beforecharging,disconnectandremove
thebatteryfromthevehicle-chargingthe
batterywiththecablesconnectedmay
damagethecar’selectricalsystem.
DONOTattempttochargethebatteryifthe
batteryconditionindicatorisclearorlight
yellow.
•
Makesurethebatterychargerleadsare
securelyclampedtothebatteryterminals
BEFOREswitchingonthebatterycharger.
Donotmovetheleadsoncethechargeris
switchedon.
DONOTchargethebatteryifitissuspected
ofbeingfrozen.
•
Whilecharging,shieldyoureyesoravoid
leaningoverthebatteryandkeepthearea
aroundthetopofthebatterywell
ventilated.
•

Donotallownakedlightsnearthebattery
(batteriesgenerateinflammablehydrogen
duringandaftercharging).
Thebatterywillbechargedsufficiently
oncethebatteryconditionindicatorshows
GREEN.Whenchargingisfinished,switch
offthebatterychargerBEFORE
disconnectingtheleadsfromthebattery
terminals.

Aftercharging,leavethebatteryforan
hourBEFOREreconnectiontothevehicle-
thiswillallowtimeforexplosivegasesto
disperse,therebyminimisingtheriskof
fireorexplosion.
