Beforedriving,itisimportanttofully
understandthefunctionoftheinstruments
andwarninglightsdescribedinsection2.
Powerassistanceisprogressivelyappliedthe
morethesteeringwheelisturned.For
NOTE:Redwarninglightsareofparticular
importance,illuminationindicatesthatafault
exists.Ifaredlightilluminatesalwaysstop
thevehicleandseekqualifiedassistance
beforecontinuing.

Vehiclestability
Yourvehiclehasahighergroundclearance
and,therefore,ahighercentreofgravitythan
ordinarycars.Thiswillresultindifferent
handlingcharacteristics.Inexperienceddrivers
shouldtakeadditionalcare,particularlyin
off-roaddrivingsituationsandwhen

headroombeforedrivingthroughlow
entrances.Thisisparticularlyimportantifthe
vehicleisfittedwitharoofrackorifthe
sunroofisopen.
WARNING
DoNOTuseauxiliaryequipment,suchasa
rollergenerator,whichisdrivenbyone
wheelofthevehicle,asthiscouldcause
failureofthegearboxdifferential.Insome
casesthevehiclemayattempttodriveitself
forward.
