Regularlyinspectthebeltwebbingforsignsof
fraying,cutsandwear,alsopayingparticular
attentiontotheconditionofthefixingpoints
andadjusters.
WARNING
Alwaysreplaceaseatbeltthathas
withstoodthestrainofanimpactorshows
signsoffraying.
DONOTbleachordyethewebbing.Cleanthe
webbingusingwarmwaterandnon-detergent
soaponly;allowtodrynaturallyandDONOT
retractthebeltsorusethevehicleuntilthey
arecompletelydry.
Testinginertiareelseatbelts
Fromtimetotimecarryoutthefollowing
tests:
1.
Withtheseatbeltfastened,givethe
webbingnearthebuckleaquickupward
pull.Thebucklemustremainsecurely
locked.
2.
Withtheseatbeltfastened,sitbackinthe
seatandensureanyslackhasbeen
rewound.Thenmovetheupperbody
sharplyforwardfromthehips-the
mechanismmustlockautomaticallyand
preventanyfurtherunreelingofthebelt.
3.
Withtheseatbeltunfastened,unreelthe
webbingtothelimitofitstravel.Check
thatunreelingisfreefromsnatchesand
snags.
Ifaseatbeltshouldfailanyofthesetests,
contactyourdealerimmediately.
