Engineimmobilisationisanimportantaspect
oftheRangeRover’ssecuritysystem,and
includesafeatureknownas’passive
immobilisation’.Thisisdesignedtosafeguard
thevehiclefromtheftshouldthedriverforget
tolockthedoors.Theengineisautomatically
immobilisedwheneveranyofthefollowing
conditionsoccur.
Itisvirtuallyimpossibletoleavethecar
unattendedorattendedwithoutthe
enginebeingimmobilisedautomatically.
Forthisreasonitisimportantthatall
driversarefullyawareofthefollowing:
Theengineisre-mobilisedbypressing
the’unlock’buttononthehandsetor
insertingthekeyinthestarterswitch.
1.
Whenthevehicleislockedusingthe
handsetorkey.
Ifthehandsetislostordamagedandfails
tooperate,theenginemustbe
re-mobilisedbyenteringtheemergency
keyaccesscodebeforethevehiclecanbe
driven(see’Emergencykeyaccess’).
2.
Thirtysecondsafterthestarterswitchhas
beenturnedoffANDthedriver’ sdoor
opened.
3.
Tenminutesafterthestarterswitchhas
beenturnedoff(evenifthekeyremainsin
thestarterswitchandthedriver’ sdoor
hasnotopened).
