Thefrontandrearoutboardsafetyrestraintsinthevehicleare
combinationlapandshoulderbelts.Thefrontpassengerandrearseat
outboardsafetybeltshavetwotypesoflockingmodesdescribedbelow:
Vehicle sensitive mode
Thevehiclesensitivemodeisthenormalretractormode,allowingfree
shoulderbeltlengthadjustmenttoyourmovementsandlockingin
responsetovehiclemovement.Forexample,ifthedriverbrakes
suddenlyorturnsacornersharply,orthevehiclereceivesanimpactof
approximately8km/h(5mph)ormore,thecombinationsafetybeltswill
locktohelpreduceforwardmovementofthedriverandpassengers.
Automatic locking mode
Inthismode,theshoulderbeltisautomaticallypre-locked.Thebeltwill
stillretracttoremoveanyslackintheshoulderbelt.
Theautomaticlockingmodeisnotavailableonthedriversafetybelt.
When to use the automatic locking mode
•
Anytimeachildsafetyseatisinstalledinapassengerfrontor
outboardrearseatingposition(ifequipped).Children12yearsoldand
undershouldbeproperlyrestrainedintherearseatwhenever
