Making a decision
Boardmembersreviewallavailableinformationrelatedtoeach
complaint,includingoralpresentations,andarriveatafairandimpartial
decision.Boardreviewmaybeterminatedatanytimebyeitherparty.
Everyeffortismadetodecidethecasewithin40daysofthedatethat
allrequestedinformationisreceivedbytheBoard.SincetheBoard
generallymeetsonceamonth,itmaytakelongerfortheBoardto
considersomecases.
Afteracaseisreviewed,theBoardmailsyouadecisionletteranda
formonwhichtoacceptorrejecttheBoard’sdecision.Thedecisionsof
theBoardarebindingonFord(and,insomecases,onthedealer)but
notonconsumerswhoarefreetopursueotherremediesavailableto
themunderstateorfederallaw.
