bucklethenunbucklethesafetybelt.

ThiswilldisableBeltMinderifitiscurrentlyenabled,orenableBelt
Minderifitiscurrentlydisabled.

ConfirmationofdisablingBeltMinderisprovidedbyflashingthe
safetybeltwarninglightfourtimespersecondforthreeseconds.

ConfirmationofenablingBeltMinderisprovidedbyflashingthesafety
beltwarninglightfourtimespersecondforthreeseconds,followedby
threesecondswiththesafetybeltwarninglightoff,thenfollowedby
flashingthesafetybeltwarninglightfourtimespersecondforthree
secondsagain.
9.
Afterreceivingconfirmation,thedeactivation/activationprocedureis
complete.
Safety belt maintenance
Inspectthesafetybeltsystemsperiodicallytomakesuretheywork
properlyandarenotdamaged.Inspectthesafetybeltstomakesure
therearenonicks,wearsorcuts,replacingifnecessary.Allsafetybelt
assemblies,includingretractors,buckles,frontseatbeltbuckle
assemblies,bucklesupportassemblies(slidebar-ifequipped),shoulder
beltheightadjusters(ifequipped),shoulderbeltguideonseatback(if
equipped),childsafetyseattetherbracketassemblies(ifequipped),and
attachinghardware,shouldbeinspectedafteracollision.Ford
recommendsthatallsafetybeltassembliesusedinvehiclesinvolvedina
collisionbereplaced.However,ifthecollisionwasminorandaqualified
technicianfindsthatthebeltsdonotshowdamageandcontinueto
operateproperly,theydonotneedtobereplaced.Safetybeltassemblies
notinuseduringacollisionshouldalsobeinspectedandreplacedif
eitherdamageorimproperoperationisnoted.
Failuretoinspectandifnecessaryreplacethesafetybelt
assemblyundertheaboveconditionscouldresultinsevere
personalinjuriesintheeventofacollision.
