Washing your vehicle

strongdetergentsorsoap.Ifyour
vehicleisparticularlydirty,usea
qualitycarwashdetergent.Always
useacleansponge,washingglove
orsimilardeviceandplentyofwater
forbestresults.Toavoidspots,
avoidwashingwhenthehoodisstill
warm,immediatelyafterorduring
exposuretostrongsunlight.
Duringwintermonths,itisespeciallyimportanttowashthevehicleona
regularbasis.Largequantitiesofdirtandroadsaltaredifficultto
removeandalsocausedamagetothevehicle.
Anygasolinespilledonthevehicleordepositssuchasbirddroppings
shouldbewashedandspongedoffassoonaspossible.Depositsnot
removedpromptlycancausedamagetothevehicle’spaintwork.
Removeanyexterioraccessories,suchasantennas,beforeenteringacar
wash.Ifyouhavewaxappliedtothevehicleatacommercialcarwash,it
isrecommendedthatyoucleanthewiperbladesandwindshieldas
describedinCleaningthewiperbladesandwindshield.
Afterwashing,applythebrakesseveraltimestodrythem.
Waxing your vehicle
Waxingyourvehicleonaregularbasiswillreduceminorscratchesand
paintdamage.
Waxwhenwaterstopsbeadingonthesurface.Thiscouldbeeverythree
orfourmonths,dependingonoperatingconditions.
Useonlycarnaubaorsynthetic-basedwaxes.Useacleaningfluidwitha
cleanclothtoremoveanybugsbeforewaxingyourvehicle.Usetar
removertoremoveanytarspots.
Avoidgettingwaxonthewindshield,oronanysurfaceswhichappear
coarseorbumpy.Ifyouhavewaxappliedatacommercialcarwash,itis
recommendedthatyoucleanthewiperbladesandwindshieldas
