IfotherthanFord,MotorcraftorFord-authorizedpartsareusedfor
maintenancereplacementsorforserviceofcomponentsaffecting
emissioncontrol,suchnon-Fordpartsshouldbeequivalenttogenuine
FordMotorCompanypartsinperformanceanddurability.
Donotpark,idle,ordriveyourvehicleindrygrassorotherdry
groundcover.Theemissionsystemheatsuptheengine
compartmentandexhaustsystem,whichcanstartafire.
Illuminationofthe“CheckEngine”light,chargingsystemwarninglight
orthetemperaturewarninglight,fluidleaks,strangeodors,smokeor
lossofenginepower,couldindicatethattheemissioncontrolsystemis
notworkingproperly.
Exhaustleaksmayresultinentryofharmfulandpotentially
lethalfumesintothepassengercompartment.
Donotmakeanyunauthorizedchangestoyourvehicleorengine.By
law,vehicleownersandanyonewhomanufactures,repairs,services,
sells,leases,tradesvehicles,orsupervisesafleetofvehiclesarenot
permittedtointentionallyremoveanemissioncontroldeviceorprevent
itfromworking.Informationaboutyourvehicle’semissionsystemison
theVehicleEmissionControlInformationDecallocatedonornearthe
engine.Thisdecalidentifiesenginedisplacementandgivessometuneup
specifications.
