Important child restraint precautions
YouarerequiredbylawtousesafetyrestraintsforchildrenintheU.S.
andCanada.Ifsmallchildrenrideinyourvehicle(generallychildrenwho
arefouryearsoldoryoungerandwhoweigh18kg[40lbs]orless),you
mustputtheminsafetyseatsmadeespeciallyforchildren.Checkyour
localandstateorprovinciallawsforspecificrequirementsregardingthe
safetyofchildreninyourvehicle.
Neverletapassengerholdachildonhisorherlapwhilethe
vehicleismoving.Thepassengercannotprotectthechildfrom
injuryinacollision.
Alwaysfollowtheinstructionsandwarningsthatcomewithanyinfantor
childrestraintyoumightuse.
Whenpossible,alwaysplacechildrenunderage12intherearseatof
yourvehicle.Accidentstatisticssuggestthatchildrenaresaferwhen
properlyrestrainedintherearseatingpositionsthaninthefrontseating
position.
