Haveyourdealerchecktheenginecoolingsystemforleaksifyouhave
toaddmorethan1.0liter(1.0quart)ofenginecoolantpermonth.
Toavoidscaldinghotsteamorcoolantfrombeingreleasedfrom
theenginecoolingsystem,neverremovethereservoircapwhile
theengineisrunningorhot.Failuretofollowthiswarningmayresult
indamagetotheengine’scoolingsystemandpossibleseverepersonal
injury.
Ifyoumustremovethecoolantcap,followthesestepstoavoidpersonal
injury:
1.
Beforeyouremovethecap,turntheengineoffandletitcool.
2.
Whentheengineiscool,wrapathickclotharoundthecap.Slowly
turncapcounterclockwiseuntilpressurebeginstorelease.

Stepbackwhilethepressurereleases.
Whenyouaresurethatallthepressurehasbeenreleased,usethe
clothtoturnitcounterclockwiseandremovethecap.
Recycled engine coolant
FordMotorCompanyrecommendstheuseofarecycledenginecoolant
producedbyFord-approvedprocesses.
NotallcoolantrecyclingprocessesproducecoolantwhichmeetsFord
specificationWSS-M97B51–A1.Useofarecycledenginecoolantwhich
doesnotmeettheFordG05specificationmayharmengineandcooling
systemcomponents.
Alwaysdisposeofusedautomotivefluidsinaresponsiblemanner.
Followyourcommunity’sregulationsandstandardsforrecyclingand
disposingofautomotivefluids.
