If your vehicle goes off the edge of the pavement

Ifyourvehiclegoesofftheedgeofthepavement,slowdown,but
avoidseverebrakeapplication,easethevehiclebackontothe
pavementonlyafterreducingyourspeed.Donotturnthesteering
wheeltoosharplywhilereturningtotheroadsurface.

Itmaybesafertostayontheapronorshoulderoftheroadandslow
downgraduallybeforereturningtothepavement.Youmaylose
controlifyoudonotslowdownorifyouturnthesteeringwheeltoo
sharplyorabruptly.
Itoftenmaybelessriskytostrikesmallobjects,suchashighway
reflectors,withminordamagetoyourvehicleratherthanattempta
suddenreturntothepavementwhichcouldcausethevehicletoslide
sidewaysoutofcontrolorrollover.Remember,yoursafetyandthe
safetyofothersshouldbeyourprimaryconcern.

vehicleswithalowercenterofgravity.Utilityandfour-wheel
drivevehiclesarenotdesignedforcorneringatspeedsashigh
aspassengercarsanymorethanlow-slungsportscarsare
designedtoperformsatisfactorilyunderoff-roadconditions.
Avoidsharpturns,excessivespeedandabruptmaneuversin
thesevehicles.Failuretodrivecautiouslycouldresultinan
increasedriskoflossofvehiclecontrol,vehiclerollover,
personalinjuryanddeath.
If your vehicle gets stuck
Ifthevehicleisstuckitmayberockedoutbyshiftingfromforwardand
reversegears,stoppingbetweenshifts,inasteadypattern.Presslightly
ontheacceleratorineachgear.
Donotrockthevehicleiftheengineisnotatnormaloperating
temperatureordamagetothetransmissionmayoccur.
Donotrockthevehicleformorethanafewminutesordamage
tothetransmissionandtiresmayoccurortheenginemay
overheat.
WARNING: Donotspinthewheelsatover35mph(56km/h).
Thetiresmayfailandinjureapassengerorbystander.
