Whenthefrontpassengerseatisoccupiedandthesensingsystemhas
turnedoffthepassenger’sfrontalairbag,theЉpassengerairbagoffЉor
ЉpassairbagoffЉindicatorwilllightandstaylittoremindyouthatthe
frontpassengerfrontalairbagisoff.Whenthefrontpassengerseatis
notoccupied(emptyseat)orintheeventthatthefrontpassenger
frontalairbagisenabled(mayinflate),theindicatorlightwillbeunlit.
Theindicatorlightislocatedinthe
centerstackoftheinstrument
panel.ToconfirmtheЉpassairbag
lightЉisfunctional,itwill
momentarilyilluminatewhenthe
ignitionisturnedtotheON
position.
Thefrontpassengersensingsystemisdesignedtoturnoffthefront
passenger’sfrontalairbagwhenarearfacingchildseat,aforward-facing
childrestraint,oraboosterseatisdetected.Ifthechildrestrainthas
beeninstalledandtheindicatorisnotlit,thenturnthevehicleoff,
removethechildrestraintfromthevehicleandreinstalltherestraint
followingthechildrestraintmanufacturer’sdirections.
Thefrontpassengersensingsystemisdesignedtoenable(mayinflate)
therightfrontpassenger’sfrontalairbaganytimethesystemsensesthat
apersonofadultsizeissittingproperlyinthefrontpassengerseat.
Whenthepassengersensingsystemhasallowedtheairbagtobe
enabled,theindicatorwillbeunlitandstayunlittoremindyouthatthe
airbagisenabled(mayinflate).
Ifapersonofadult-sizeissittinginthefrontpassenger’sseat,butthe
ЉpassengerairbagoffЉorЉpassairbagoffЉindicatorislit,itcouldbe
thatthepersonisn’tsittingproperlyintheseat.Ifthishappens,turnthe
vehicleoffandaskthepersontoplacetheseatbackinthefullupright
position,thensituprightintheseat,centeredontheseatcushion,with
theperson’slegscomfortablyextended.Restartthevehicleandhavethe
personremaininthispositionforabouttwominutes.Thiswillallowthe
systemtodetectthatpersonandthenenablethepassenger’sairbag.If
