Mazdarecommendsthatallseatbeltassembliesusedinvehiclesinvolved
inacollisionbereplaced.However,ifthecollisionwasminorandan
authorizedMazdatechnicianfindsthatthebeltsdonotshowdamage
andcontinuetooperateproperly,theydonotneedtobereplaced.Seat
beltassembliesnotinuseduringacollisionshouldalsobeinspectedand
replacedifeitherdamageorimproperoperationisnoted.
Theenergyabsorbingfunctionsmayhavebeenactivatedinacollisionso
therestraintsshouldbeexamined;ifthefrontairbagshavedeployed,the
pretensionershavealsodeployedandmustbereplaced—regardlessof
whethertherewasanoccupantinthepassengerseatornot.
WARNING: Failuretoinspectandifnecessaryreplacetheseat
beltassemblyundertheaboveconditionscouldresultinsevere
personalinjuriesintheeventofacollision.
