Ifyoumustreplacethefuelfillercap,replaceitwithafuelfiller
capthatisdesignedforyourvehicle.Thewarrantymaybevoid
foranydamagetothefueltankorfuelsystemifthecorrect
genuineMazdafuelfillercapisnotused.
WARNING: Thefuelsystemmaybeunderpressure.Ifthefuel
fillercapisventingvapororifyouhearahissingsound,wait
untilitstopsbeforecompletelyremovingthefuelfillercap.
Otherwise,fuelmaysprayoutandinjureyouorothers.
WARNING: Ifyoudonotusetheproperfuelfillercap,
excessivevacuuminthefueltankmaydamagethefuelsystem
orcausethefuelcaptodisengageinacollision,whichmay
resultinpersonalinjury.
Choosing the right fuel
UseonlyUNLEADEDfuelorUNLEADEDfuelblendedwithamaximum
of10%ethanol.YourvehiclewasnotdesignedtorunonE85fuelsthat
areblendedwithamaximumof85%ethanol.Theuseofleadedfuelis
prohibitedbylawandcoulddamageyourvehicle.Donotusefuel
containingmethanol.Itcandamagecriticalfuelsystemcomponents.
Yourvehiclewasnotdesignedtousefuelorfueladditiveswithmetallic
compounds,includingmanganese-basedadditives.Studiesindicatethat
theseadditivescancauseyourvehicle’semissioncontrolsystemto
deterioratemorerapidly.
Repairstocorrecttheeffectsofusingafuelforwhichyourvehiclewas
notdesignedmaynotbecoveredbyyourwarranty.
