Seat belt pretensioner
Yourvehicleisequippedwithseatbeltpretensionersatthedriverand
frontoutboardpassengerseatingpositions.
Theseatbeltpretensionerisadevicewhichremovesexcesswebbing
fromtheseatbeltsystem.Theseatbeltpretensionerusesthesame
crashsensorsystemasthefrontairbagsupplementalrestraintsystem
(SRS).Whentheseatbeltpretensionerdeploys,webbingfromthelap
andshoulderbeltistightened.RefertotheSeatbeltmaintenance
sectioninthischapter.
WARNING: Thedriverandfrontpassengerseatbeltsystem
(includingretractors,bucklesandheightadjusters)mustbe
replacedifthevehicleisinvolvedinacollisionthatresultsin
deploymentoffrontairbagsandseatbeltpretensioners.
Front seat belt height adjustment
Yourvehiclehasseatbeltheightadjustmentsforthedriverandfront
passenger.Adjusttheheightoftheshoulderbeltsothebeltrestsacross
themiddleofyourshoulder.
