Ifsteamiscomingfromtheenginecompartment:donotgonear
thefrontofthevehicle.Stoptheengine,thenturntheignitionswitch
totheONpositionwithoutstartingtheengine.Theradiatorcooling
fanswillstarttocooltheengine.
Ifneithercoolantnorsteamisescaping:openthehoodandidle
theengineuntilitcools.Ifthisdoesnotlowerthetemperature,stop
theengineandletitcool.

Checkthecoolantlevel.Ifitislow,lookforleaksintheradiator
hosesandconnections,heaterhosesandconnections,radiatorand
waterpump.
Ifyoufindaleakorotherdamage,orifcoolantisstillleaking,stopthe
engineandcallanauthorizeddealer.
WARNING: Whentheengineandradiatorarehot,scalding
coolantandsteammayshootoutunderpressureandcause
seriousinjury.Donotremovethecoolingsystemcapwhenthe
engineandradiatorarehot.
SeeAddingcoolantintheMaintenanceandSpecificationssection.If
youfindnoproblems,theengineiscoolandnoleaksareobvious,
carefullyaddcoolantasrequired.
Note:Iftheenginecontinuestooverheatorfrequentlyoverheats,have
thecoolingsysteminspected.Theenginecouldbeseriouslydamaged
unlessrepairsaremade.
