Driving off-road with AWD

roughterrainandhasoperatingcharacteristicsthataresomewhat

Maintainsteeringwheelcontrolatalltimes,especiallyinroughterrain.
Sincesuddenchangesinterraincanresultinabruptsteeringwheel
motion,makesureyougripthesteeringwheelfromtheoutside.Donot
gripthespokes.
Drivecautiouslytoavoidvehicledamagefromconcealedobjectssuchas
rocksandstumps.
Youshouldeitherknowtheterrainorexaminemapsoftheareabefore
driving.Mapoutyourroutebeforedrivinginthearea.Formore

If your vehicle gets stuck
Ifthevehicleisstuck,shiftthetransmissioninasteadymotionbetween
forwardandreversegears.Allowthetransmissiontoengage,thenpress
lightlyontheaccelerator.
Donotrockthevehicleformorethanafewminutes.The
transmissionandtiresmaybedamagedortheenginecan
overheat.
Donotspinthewheelsatover56km/h(35mph).Thetiresmay
failandinjureapassengerorbystander.
Sand
Whendrivingoversand,trytokeepallfourwheelsonthemostsolid
areaofthetrail.Donotreducethetirepressuresbutshifttoalower
gearanddrivesteadilythroughtheterrain.Applytheacceleratorslowly
andavoidspinningthewheels.
