Trytopullthebeltoutoftheretractortomakesuretheretractoris
intheautomaticlockingmode(youshouldnotbeabletopullmorebelt
out).Iftheretractorisnotlocked,unbucklethebeltandrepeatsteps
twothroughnine.
Checktomakesurethechildseatisproperlysecuredbeforeeachuse.
Attaching safety seats with tether  straps
Somemanufacturersmakesafetyseatsthatincludeatetherstrapthat
goesoverthebackofthevehicleseatandattachestoananchoring
point.Othermanufacturersofferthetetherstrapasanaccessory.

orderingatetherstrap.
Tether anchorage hardware
Atetheredseatcanbeinstalledinthefrontseat.Putthetetherstrap
overtheseatbackandattachittoaanchorbracket.
Ananchorbracketcanbeinstalledontherearedgeofthefrontseat
cushion.
Theprovision(attachinghole)isprovidedintherearedgeofthefront
passengerseatcushionframe.Theanchorbracketmustbeinstalledusing
theinstructionsprovidedwiththekit.
Tetheranchoragehardwarekits(partnumber613D74)including
instructions,maybeobtainedatnochargefromanyFordor
Lincoln-Mercurydealer.
Tightentheanchoraccordingtospecifications.Otherwise,the
safetyseatmaynotbeproperlysecuredandthechildmaybe
injuredinasuddenstoporcollision.
