Maintenance and care
Makesurethatallreplacementtiresareofthesamesize,type,
load-carryingcapacityandtreaddesign(e.g.,‘‘AllTerrain’’,etc.),
asoriginallyofferedbyFord.
Failuretofollowtheseprecautionsmayadverselyaffectthe
handlingofthevehicleandmakeiteasiertolosecontrolandroll
over.
Tiresthatarelargerorsmallerthanyourvehicle’soriginaltiresmayalso
affecttheaccuracyofyourspeedometer.
USING SNOW TIRES AND TRACTION  DEVICES
Snowtiresmustbethesamesizeandgradeasthetiresyou
currentlyhaveonyourvehicle.
Thetiresonyourvehiclehaveall-weathertreadstoprovidetractionin
rainandsnow.However,insomeclimates,usingsnowtiresandtraction
devicesmaybenecessary.FordofferstirecablesasaFordapproved
accessoryandrecommendsuseoftheseortheirequivalents.Seeyour
dealerorqualifiedservicetechnicianformoreinformationontirecables
foryourvehicle.
Followtheseguidelineswhenusingsnowtiresandtractiondevices:
Donotusetirechainsonaluminumwheels.Chainsmaychipthe
wheels.
Installcablessecurely,verifyingthatthecablesdonottouchany
wiring,brakelinesorfuellines.
Drivecautiously.Ifyouhearthecablesruborbangagainstthe
vehicle,stopandretightenthem.Ifthisdoesnotwork,removethe
cablestopreventvehicledamage.
Avoidoverloadingyourvehicle.
Removethetirecableswhentheyarenolongerneeded.
Donotusecablesondryroads.
Thesuspensioninsulationandbumperswillhelppreventvehicle
damage.Donotremovethesecomponentsfromthevehiclewhen
usingsnowtiresandtractiondevices.
Donotexceed48km/h(30mph)withtirecablesonyourvehicle.
