Routethetetherstrapbehindthe
headrestraintsupportstoaloop
behindanadjacentseatingposition,
andhookthestraphookontothe
loop.Ifusingthedriver’sside,pass
thestrapbehindtheshoulderbelt
mountingforthecenterseat.

Alwaysputthetetherstrap
throughtheroutingloop.The
headrestraintsupportpostwill
holdthechildseattightly,buttheheadrestraintpostisnotstrong
enoughtoholdthechildseatduringacollision.

Installthechildsafetyseattightly
usingtheLATCHanchorsorsafety
belts.Followtheinstructionsinthis
chapter.

Tightenthetetherstrap
accordingtothechildseat
manufacturer’sinstructions.
Attaching safety seats with  LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for
Children) attachments for child  seat anchors
Somechildsafetyseatshavetworigidorwebbingmountedattachments
thatconnecttotwoanchorsatcertainseatingpositionsinyourvehicle.
Thistypeofchildseateliminatestheneedtousesafetybeltstoattach
