Iftheparkingbrakeisfullyreleased,butthebrakewarninglamp
remainsilluminated,thebrakesmaynotbeworkingproperly.
Seeyourauthorizeddealer.
Brake-shift interlock - floor-shift  transmission
Thisvehicleisequippedwithabrake-shiftinterlockfeaturethatprevents
thegearshiftleverfrombeingmovedfromP(Park)whentheignitionis
intheONpositionunlessthebrakepedalisdepressed.
IfyoucannotmovethegearshiftleveroutofP(Park)withignitionin
theONpositionandthebrakepedaldepressed,itispossiblethatafuse
hasblownorthevehicle’sbrakelampsarenotoperatingproperly.Refer
toFusesandrelaysintheRoadsideEmergencieschapter.
Ifthefuseisnotblown,performthefollowingprocedure:
1.Applytheparkingbrake,turntheignitiontoLOCK,thenremovethe
key.
2.
Openthecenterconsolebin.
Usingascrewdriver,carefullypryoff
theconsolefinishpanelsurrounding
theshiftermechanismbyinsertinga
screwdriverintothelatchslotas
shown.
3.
assemblytoexposetheinsideofthe
gearshift.
Removeconsolefinishpanel
