WINDOWS AND WIPER BLADES
Thewindshield,rearandsidewindowsandthewiperbladesshouldbe
cleanedregularly.Ifthewipersdonotwipeproperly,substancesonthe
vehicle’sglassorthewiperbladesmaybethecause.Thesemayinclude
hotwaxtreatmentsusedbycommercialcarwashes,waterrepellent
coatings,treesap,orotherorganiccontamination;thesecontaminants
maycausesqueakingorchatternoisefromtheblades,andstreakingand
smearingofthewindshield.Tocleantheseitems,followthesetips:

Thewindshield,rearwindowsandsidewindowsmaybecleanedwith
anon-abrasivecleanersuchasMotorcraftUltra-ClearSprayGlass
Cleaner(ZC-23),availablefromyourauthorizeddealer.

Thewiperbladescanbecleanedwithisopropyl(rubbing)alcoholor
MotorcraftPremiumWindshieldWasherConcentrate(ZC-32-A),
availablefromyourauthorizeddealer.Thiswasherfluidcontains
specialsolutioninadditiontoalcoholwhichhelpstoremovethehot
waxdepositedonthewiperbladeandwindshieldfromautomatedcar
washfacilities.Besuretoreplacewiperbladeswhentheyappear
wornordonotfunctionproperly.

Donotuseabrasives,astheymaycausescratches.
Donotusefuel,kerosene,orpaintthinnertocleananyparts.
Ifyoucannotremovethosestreaksaftercleaningwiththeglasscleaner
orifthewiperschatterandmoveinajerkymotion,cleantheouter
surfaceofthewindshieldandthewiperbladesusingaspongeorsoft
clothwithaneutraldetergentormild-abrasivecleaningsolution.After
cleaning,rinsethewindshieldandwiperbladeswithcleanwater.The
windshieldiscleanifbeadsdonotformwhenyourinsethewindshield
withwater.
Donotusesharpobjects,suchasarazorblade,tocleanthe
insideoftherearwindowortoremovedecals,asitmaycause
damagetotherearwindowdefroster’sheatedgridlines(if
equipped).

Cleantheinstrumentpanel,interiortrimareasandclusterlenswitha
cleananddampwhitecottoncloth,thenwithacleananddrywhite
cottoncloth;youmayalsouseMotorcraftDash&VinylCleaner
(ZC-38-A)ontheinstrumentpanelandinteriortrimareas.
