TRANSMISSION FLUID

Refertoyourscheduledmaintenanceinformationforscheduled
intervalsforfluidchecksandchanges.Yourtransmissiondoesnot
consumefluid.However,thefluidlevelshouldbecheckedifthe
transmissionisnotworkingproperly,i.e.,ifthetransmissionslipsor
shiftsslowlyorifyounoticesomesignoffluidleakage.
Automatictransmissionfluidexpandswhenwarmed.Toobtainan
accuratefluidcheck,drivethevehicleuntilitisatnormaloperating
temperature(approximately20miles[30km]).Ifyourvehiclehasbeen
operatedforanextendedperiodathighspeeds,incitytrafficduringhot
weatherorpullingatrailer,thevehicleshouldbeturnedoffforabout
