orfatalifswallowed.Fuelssuchasgasolineandethanolarehighly
toxicandifswallowedcancausedeathorpermanentinjury.Iffuelis
swallowed,callaphysicianimmediately,evenifnosymptomsare
immediatelyapparent.Thetoxiceffectsoffuelmaynotbevisiblefor
hours.

Avoidinhalingfuelvapors.Inhalingtoomuchfuelvaporofanykind
canleadtoeyeandrespiratorytractirritation.Inseverecases,
excessiveorprolongedbreathingoffuelvaporcancauseserious
illnessandpermanentinjury.
Avoidgettingfuelliquidinyoureyes.Iffuelissplashedintheeyes,
removecontactlenses(ifworn),flushwithwaterfor15minutesand
seekmedicalattention.Failuretoseekpropermedicalattentioncould
leadtopermanentinjury.
Fuelscanalsobeharmfulifabsorbedthroughtheskin.Iffuelis
splashedontheskinand/orclothing,promptlyremovecontaminated
clothingandwashskinthoroughlywithsoapandwater.Repeatedor
prolongedskincontactwithfuelliquidorvaporcausesskinirritation.
Beparticularlycarefulifyouaretaking“Antabuse”orotherformsof
disulfiramforthetreatmentofalcoholism.Breathinggasolineand/or
ethanolvapors,orskincontactcouldcauseanadversereaction.In
sensitiveindividuals,seriouspersonalinjuryorsicknessmayresult.If
fuelissplashedontheskin,promptlywashskinthoroughlywithsoap
andwater.Consultaphysicianimmediatelyifyouexperiencean
adversereaction.

FFVfueltanksmaycontainzeroto85percentethanol.Anyfuel
blendscontaininggasolineandethanolshouldbetreatedthesameas
“FuelEthanol”.ToidentifyifyourvehicleisanFFV,itmaybe
equippedwithayellowfuelcapwiththewriting“E85/Gasoline”,or
checkifthereisalabelonthefuelfillerdoor,orcheckyourVIN.
WhencheckingtheVINlookfortheenginetypeidentifier(8th
character).IfyourvehicleisanFFV,thenthecharacterwillbe
labeledasa“V”.
Pureethanolisthealcoholwhichistheintoxicatingagentinliquor,beer
andwine.Itisdistilledfromthefermentationofplantssuchasfieldcorn
