shouldnotbenecessarytoaddanyaftermarketproductstoyourfuel
tankifyoucontinuetousehighqualityfueloftherecommendedoctane
rating.Theseproductshavenotbeenapprovedforyourengineand
couldcausedamagetothefuelsystem.Repairstocorrecttheeffectsof
usinganaftermarketproductinyourfuelmaynotbecoveredbyyour
warranty.
UnleadedGasolineengines
Ifyouareexperiencingstarting,roughidleorhesitationdriveability
problemsduringacoldstart,tryadifferentbrandof“Regular”unleaded
gasoline.“Premium”unleadedgasolineisnotrecommendedbecauseit
maycausetheseproblemstobecomemorepronounced.Iftheproblems
persist,seeyourauthorizeddealer.
FFVengine(ifequipped)
YourFFVwilloperatewellonordinary“Regular”unleadedgasoline,but
onlythehighestqualityfuelethanolwillprovidethesamelevelof
protectionandperformance.ToidentifyifyourvehicleisanFFV,itmay
beequippedwithayellowfuelcapwiththewriting“E85/Gasoline”,or
checkifthereisalabelonthefuelfillerdoor,orcheckyourVIN.When
checkingtheVIN,lookfortheenginetypeidentifier(8thcharacter).If
yourvehicleisanFFV,thenthecharacterwillbelabeledasa“V”.
Ifyouoperateyourvehicle50%ormoreofthetimeonethanol,you
shouldfollowadifferentmaintenanceschedule.Inadditiontothisitis
alsorecommendedtofillthefueltankwithregularunleadedgasoline
onceevery3,000miles(4,828km).Seescheduledmaintenance
informationformoreinformation.
Running out of fuel
Avoidrunningoutoffuelbecausethissituationmayhaveanadverse
effectonpowertraincomponents.
Ifyouhaverunoutoffuel:

YoumayneedtocycletheignitionfromOFFtoONseveraltimesafter
refuelingtoallowthefuelsystemtopumpthefuelfromthetankto
theengine.Onrestarting,crankingtimewilltakeafewsecondslonger
thannormal.
